Lompoc police say a man wanted on suspicion of attempted murder has turned himself in.

Deshawn Lee Johnson, 46, was wanted in connection with a shooting at the Conserv Fuel gas station on E. Ocean Ave. on Thursday, Feb. 14.

Surveillance video of the shooting shows a man getting out of a car with a bat as a white van pulls up. He then falls to the ground as shots are fired.

Police later found what’s believed to be the same van parked outside an apartment about a block away on E. Cypress Ave.

The apartment was searched and police say they found weapons and stolen tools. Investigators say they believe the stolen tools were being traded for drugs.

They also believe the shooting was drug-related.

Police say the victim was treated for his injuries at a local hospital.

Johnson is currently being held at Santa Barbara County Jail without bail.
