A Lompoc man is behind bars, accused of possessing and distributing child pornography.

Lompoc police say detectives along with an investigator from the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office served a search warrant at a home Thursday morning where child pornography was suspected of being distributed.

Police say along with evidence it was being distributed, they also located evidence that Samuel Bosworth, 60, was in possession of child pornography.

Bosworth was reportedly on post release community supervision for similar crimes from 2015.

He was arrested on suspicion of violating probation, possession of child pornography with a prior conviction and distribution of child pornography.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Detective Miller at 805-875-8124.

It was not immediately known if his arrest was one of three made in Santa Barbara County Thursday when authorities conducted compliance checks on high-risk sex offenders.
