Deputies save life from overdose for second time in 24-hours

Another life was saved from an overdose in Isla Vista on Friday, just 24-hours after NARCAN was used to save another person’s life.

Law enforcement, along with medical, responded to a home on the 6500 block of Sabado Tarde in Isla Vista around 1:30 a.m.

A 21-year-old man was found suffering from a drug overdose, according to a press release from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

A single dose of Naloxone Hydrochloride was administered and the man began breathing again. He was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

On Thursday, first responders saved a woman suffering from a prescription opioid overdose. NARCAN was also administered to block the life-threatening effects of the opioids.
