It’s no question that traffic on Highway 227 has been a growing concern for residents in the past few years.
Now the county is partnering with Caltrans and the San Luis Obispo Council of Governments to ease congestion at the intersection near Los Ranchos Rd. in San Luis Obispo with a roundabout project intended to improve safety and accommodate growing traffic flow.
Funding is already secured for the design and environmental impact phase of the project. The county hopes to hire a design team this spring to move forward with draft designs and begin a detailed traffic analysis.
A meeting about the proposed roundabout is set for Wednesday, March 20, at Los Ranchos Elementary School. An open house will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a presentation at 6:30.
