The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the 2019 Sheriff’s Citizen’s Academy.
The seven-week course lets people get an exclusive look at what the sheriff’s office does on a daily basis.
Classes will be at several locations throughout Santa Barbara County and will include lectures and hands-on law enforcement training.
People who join will learn arrest and control, active shooter response, building searches and get a tour of the main jail.
Anyone who wants to participate needs to apply fast because it is on a first-come first-served basis and there are only 40 spots available.
All applicants have to be at least 18-years-old.
The academy starts April 10 and has classes every Wednesday until May 15.
