Traffic will be slowed between Hurricane Point and Rocky Creek Bridge in Big Sur this week because a construction project is set to start Monday.
The project will widen shoulders on the existing road and upgrade the guardrail.
Caltrans said the road work will be done around the clock, especially during the week. They say drivers can expect 20-minute delays.
Crews will be working during the day Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Overnight work will be done Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. Crews will be working Fridays from midnight to 6 a.m. Saturday morning and Sundays from 8 p.m. to midnight on Monday morning.
