The 2019 Dazzling Diamond Ball Fundraiser raised $70,000 Saturday to support services provided by Wilshire Health and Community Services.
Wilshire Health raised the money through an auction.
The money raised at the event will support the non-profits hospice, home health and community-based programs.
During the event, Wilshire Health and Community Services announced the opening of the Riso Family Loan Closet. The closet was named after Anthony Riso, a former friend of Wilshire who died in January 2017.
Wilshire said in Riso’s final year with them he collected wheelchairs, walkers and other medical equipment which is why they decided to start the loan closet.
They said the closet is a free community resource that loans medical equipment to people in need.
