A prominent farmer in the Arroyo Grande community has died.
Robert Saburo Hayashi, 61, of Arroyo Grande passed away March 20.
Hayashi was active in his family’s longtime farming business and could often be seen at the Hayashi Vegetable Stand in Oceano and local farmers’ markets. He was also involved with the Pismo Oceano Vegetable Exchange for several terms as a board member.
It is said that he died peacefully at his family home.
Hayashi is survived by his father, four brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
A private burial service was reportedly held at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.
