UPDATE (4 p.m.) – Atascadero police say prior to the pursuit, officers had received a broadcast from Paso Robles police about vehicle associated with someone who was involved in a hit-and-run and assault with a deadly weapon incident.
Police spotted the vehicle in Atascadero and tried to pull over the driver.
Police say they pursued the driver on Highway 101 into Templeton at which time CHP took over.
Officers reportedly lost sight of the vehicle in Paso Robles.
Paso Robles police have not yet responded to KSBY’s request for information on whether the vehicle was located or any arrests made.
ORIGINAL STORY: Police are looking for a driver who reportedly led authorities on a pursuit through Atascadero and Paso Robles Thursday night.
Atascadero police say it started when an officer saw someone driving who was wanted by their agency.
Police tried to pull the driver over at about 11:09 p.m., but they took off, officials said.
The chase went into Paso Robles where police lost sight of the driver at about 11:23 p.m.
No other information was immediately available.
