Goleta to enforce temporary parking restrictions during Deltopia

Temporary parking restrictions will be in place this weekend for some Goleta residents in anticipation of Deltopia.

Deltopia is an unsanctioned street party in Isla Vista. Every year, the event attracts thousands of college-aged revelers to the beach community.

This year, it’s expected to fall on Saturday, April 6.

Because the effects of the party can spill over into neighboring Goleta, the city will enforce temporary parking restrictions in the area that includes Hollister Ave. to the southern city limit and Cannon Green Dr. to Storke Road.

People who live in the affected areas were issued parking permits.

Parking permits will be required for street parking from 7 p.m. on Friday, April 5 to 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 6 and again from 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 to 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 7.

Vehicles without permits will be cited and towed.

The City of Goleta has posted answers to some frequently asked questions about the parking restrictions on its website.

Last year, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office estimated that 10,000 people attended Deltopia.
