The San Luis Obispo County Public Health Department’s building is about to undergo some major improvements.
SLO County Public Works crews will begin construction Monday at the public health building located at 2191 Johnson Ave. in San Luis Obispo.
Patients will still be able to go to the Public Health Department for care during construction. The facility will be open for its normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
People are asked to be cautious around the construction zone. Drivers may encounter some traffic delays in the area, plus safety barricades and other safety measures may be set up as needed.
Crews will be replacing the HVAC equipment in the public health building as well as replacing the roof, rain gutters, flooring in clinic area and exam rooms and some windows.
County officials say the goal of the renovation project is to significantly extend the life of the facility.
