A locally owned lumber store in Paso Robles is doing its part in supporting local schools with a garden kit donation program.

Today the program granted the kits to Paso Robles Co-Op Preschool and Paloma Creek High School.

Now in it’s fourth year, the store’s school garden grant program awards garden bed kits to ten schools.

The garden kits include redwood lumber courtesy of Big Creek Lumber, soil courtesy of Sun Land Garden Products and garden tools courtesy of Orgill. All kits are delivered directly to the schools for immediate assembly and use.

The program started in 2016 as part of Big Creek Lumber’s 70th anniversary celebration. The business says its garden kits utilize sustainably harvested redwood and promote healthy lifestyles.
