An inmate was reported missing from the Federal Prison Camp in Lompoc Friday.

Prison officials say Heriberto Gonzalez, 55, was discovered missing at about 10:25 p.m. They believe he walked away from the camp.

The United States Marshal Service was notified along with local law enforcement agencies.

Gonzalez was serving a 33-month sentence out of Texas for aiding and abetting and possession with intent to distribute somewhere between 50 kg and 100 kg of marijuana, according to a press release.

He’s described as being Hispanic, 5’11”, 230 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on where Gonzalez may be is asked to call the U.S. Marshal Service at (213) 894-2485.

The minimum-security Federal Prison Camp houses 478 male inmates and is part of the Federal Correctional Complex in Lompoc.
