The Santa Maria Police Department released the name of the driver killed in a crash earlier this week on Saturday.

They said 83-year-old Judith Ann Zimmer died in the collision that happened shortly after 5 p.m. on Thursday.

Zimmer was driving a tan-colored 2000 Acura sedan headed northbound on California Blvd. when police said she was struck by an Apex Auto Glass pickup, which was headed eastbound on Union Valley Parkway.  The pickup truck reportedly had the right of way.

Police said the two passengers in the pickup were not hurt.

The cause of the crash is still under review by traffic investigators. Police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.

This is the third deadly crash in Santa Maria this year. The other two crashes happened on March 16 according to police.
