After nearly a decade, Goleta’s West Wind Drive-in has closed.
The all-digital drive-in made the announcement Friday morning on Facebook with a post that said, “Thank you for supporting the Santa Barbara Drive-In for the last nine years. We are now closed.”
In a matter of hours, hundreds of people had commented on the post expressing their sadness over the announcement, especially right before summer.
The final night for the drive-in, located at 908 S. Kellogg Ave., was Thursday where free movies were shown and people could enjoy a jump house, face painting, food and music, according to its Facebook page.
The West Wind chain reportedly has three other locations in California, one in Arizona and two in Nevada.

The company has not responded to KSBY’s requests for additional comment on the closure.
