The Big Sur International Marathon is happening this weekend and a portion of Highway 1 will be closed during the race.
Described as the “largest rural marathon in the world,” the race Sunday runs along the coast from Big Sur to Carmel.
Participants are given six hours to complete the course as Highway 1 will be reopened at 1 p.m.
