Inmates at the San Luis Obispo County Women’s Honor Farm presented a local parenting organization with handmade baby quilts, bibs, soft toys, and infant clothing on Monday.

Pregnancy and Parenting Support of San Luis Obispo County provides free assistance to families during pregnancy through a child’s second year.

This was just the latest donation by inmates in the Women’s Honor Farm Sewing Program. Over the years, the women have made quilts for domestic violence victims, vests and capes for children battling cancer, teddy bears for the Get on the Bus program, and pajamas and blankets for the homeless.

“I don’t think any of us realized the huge impact our Sewing Program would have on so many lives”, said Senior Correctional Deputy Piotrowski. “These baby items allowed the women who cannot be with their own children an opportunity to help someone else’s child. It’s all about the act of kindness.”
