The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at the San Ysidro Pharmacy in Montecito.

It happened at about 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the store after receiving a call of a burglary in progress to find the front glass door shattered but no one inside. The pharmacy owner reportedly confirmed that several prescription medications had been stolen.

Investigators say the burglary happened about an hour after the sheriff’s office received a call from the Oxnard Police Department alerting them to an attempted pharmacy burglary in that city. In case the people involved in that crime were headed to the Santa Barbara area, deputies conducted a check of local pharmacies, including the San Ysidro Pharmacy, but at that time, they say they saw no suspicious activity.

The sheriff’s office says three men wearing hoodies were seen driving away from the crime scene in Montecito in a white Honda or Nissan sedan.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call the sheriff’s office at (805) 681-4150. To leave an anonymous tip, call (805) 681-4171 or visit the sheriff’s website.
