The public is invited to hear about what’s been going on in San Luis Obispo over the past year and plans for the future at the 2019 State of the City presentation.

The presentation is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 at City Hall Council Chambers. City Hall is located at 990 Palm St.

The State of the City will include the city’s accomplishments during 2018, financial trends and upcoming challenges and opportunities in 2019.

City officials point to the changes made along Laurel Ln. and the addition of electric vehicle charging stations and hydration stations in the downtown area as some of the highlights over the past year. They say funding needs and the effects of the looming closure of Diablo Canyon Power Plant are some of the challenges facing the city in the years ahead.

The State of the City presentation will include time for a question and answer session with Mayor Heidi Harmon and City Manager Derek Johnson. Those unable to attend can watch live on the city’s Facebook page.
