Thousands of people flooded the beach at Morro Rock Saturday for the annual Miracle Miles for Kids run.
The 10K run is a fundraiser for the Family Care Network, which supports the needs of foster care families in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties.
Participants ran the 6-mile stretch between Morro Rock and Cayucos Pier.
Saturday’s race was the 16th installment of the Miracle Miles for Kids with between two and three thousand runners participating.
“I do this for kids, to support the kids you know, that have foster care family homes and family care network helps them provide them with families,” Pepe Gonzalez, Miracle Miles for Kids 1st place winner
The post-race party in Cayucos included food, music, kids’ activities, vendors and an awards ceremony.
The campaign has raised nearly $95,000 of its $150,000 goal.
