The California Police Chiefs Association has named Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham Legislator of the Year.

Cunningham’s office made the announcement in a press release Wednesday.

“The Police Chiefs Association is one of the most respected criminal justice advocacy organizations in the state,” said Cunningham. “I am honored to have their support, and look forward to continue working with them to move our state forward and keep our communities safe.”

The assemblyman is being recognized for his pivotal role in passing legislation to protect human trafficking victims and bolstering measures that can be taken against traffickers, as well as for advocating for public safety policies.

Earlier this year, the California District Attorneys Association also named him legislator of the year.
