Another retail chain is closing its doors.
Dressbarn announced that it will eventually close all of its 650 locations across the country.
Dressbarn executives say the “chain has not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today’s retail environment.”
It’s unclear exactly when the stores will shut down. The company will announce plans for specific store closures and information about sales during the wind-down process.
So far, there are no changes to Dressbarn’s return, refund or gift card policies.
The women’s fashion store, founded more than 50 years ago, employs about 6,800 people.
On the Central Coast, there is a Dressbarn location at the Pismo Beach Prime Outlets.
This year alone, more than 7,000 retail closings have been announced.
