Cuesta College’s Registered Nursing Program celebrates its 51st graduating class with a pinning ceremony on Friday.

The ceremony will feature 43 graduates who are receiving their Associates Degree in nursing.

Student Marti Mueller is one of the graduates receiving her pin on Friday.

Mueller says she was inspired to become a nurse when her husband passed away in 2012.

Looking back at her time in school Mueller says, “Its been challenging and hard but because the bar was raised so high and we have achieved it, it makes us feel very proud and very accomplished.”

Mueller shares that it had been nearly 35 years since she attended school and she says the program has been a life changing experience.

Mueller will be starting her new job soon at the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital working in the acute rehab unit.
