The Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Office has reportedly determined that a county jail inmate who died last month died as a result of natural causes.
Eduardo Rodriquez, 62, died on Friday, April 12. He had only been in jail for a couple of days when he apparently became ill.
According to sheriff’s officials, medical staff responded but his condition worsened and he became unresponsive. Paramedics were reportedly unable to revive him.
Rodriguez, a transient from Santa Barbara, was being held without bail for failing to register as a sex offender.
