A murder charge has been filed against a Lompoc man arrested in connection with his infant daughter’s death.
The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office says Jose Ramirez was arraigned on the charge Wednesday morning but did not enter a plea.
The criminal complaint against the 27-year-old also alleges he was previously convicted of a serious or violent felony.
Lompoc police say the baby died May 19. Ramirez was arrested last Thursday after being interviewed by police.
Few details surrounding the death and investigation have been released.
Ramirez is being held on $4 million bail and is due back in court June 11.
