2019 Elks Rodeo Queen winner, Nerissa Arellano, raised the most money in the queen’s contest.
Arellano represented VTC Enterprise and raised $379,345. In total, the princesses raised $795,526. Organizers say this number beats a 2005 record of $720,000 raised.
“Anything is possible if you just believe in yourself,” says Arellano, “Keep going keep trying. I’ve been apart of each campaign for the past six years and I always sold a ticket I never stopped just keep going and don’t give up.”
Since the queens’ contest started, the program has raised more than $13 million for the community’s youth recreation program.
