Residents and visitors in San Luis Obispo got a taste of Mediterranean culture at the Greek festival held at the Madonna Expo Center this weekend.
The festival kicked off Saturday and continued Sunday with plenty of music and dancing.
Now in its 12th year, the festival is hosted by parishioners of Saint Andrew Greek Orthodox Church.
“We hold this because we want to introduce people to our Greek culture and our Greek hospitality. we are so proud of it and we want to share it with everybody,” said Jean Costopoulos Weeks, a Greek American resident.
The family-friendly event features authentic Greek cuisine, home pastries, live traditional music and lots of dancing.
“If you’ve never been to a Greek restaurant, this is the place to be,” said Costopoulos Weeks.
Along with continuing to show Greek culture, proceeds go to benefit the Noor Clinic which provides free healthcare for those in need.
