The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works is planning to install an all-way stop at the intersection of San Luis Bay Drive and Ontario Road in Avila Beach.
The stop is expected to go into effect on Friday, June 21.
It was approved by San Luis Obispo County officials on Tuesday.
The department is putting the stop in to improve traffic conditions in the area and create a safer environment for cyclists riding down the roadway.
