Two Nipomo High School students are being recognized for a truly great feat of determination — perfect attendance from kindergarten to senior graduation.
The stories of graduating seniors Mason Santos and Michael Garrison are inspiring residents across the Central Coast.
“I would just say through dedication I set a goal for myself,” said Santos. “I’d probably say after about my 6th grade year I realize I made through kindergarten through 6th grade and I said well I made it this far, why not do the rest of my schooling career.”
Santos said the only time he only missed class to attend activities for the Future Farmers of America.
“It feels good like to talk about it with friends,” said Garrison. “It feels kinda good cause not many other people did it.”
Both students will attend Cuesta College in the following school year.
