Nearly 2,000 graduating high school seniors received their diplomas in Santa Maria on Friday.

The commencement ceremonies at Righetti, Santa Maria, and Pioneer Valley high schools were spread out throughout the day.

“I’m excited, I’m nervous, there’s a lot of mixed emotions going on. It hasn’t hit me yet, though, doesn’t feel real,” said Savannah Aragon who graduated from Righetti High School. She’ll be going to the University of Arizona to study education.
