A new bridge located at the Oceano Lagoon is now officially open.
The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate the opening of the Air Park Drive bridge.
The new concrete bridge replaces the original timber bridge in the same place.
The original bridge was installed in 1940.
The new concrete structure is 80 feet long and features sidewalks for pedestrians.
The city says it will have little to no maintenance costs for the near future.
The project cost $2.1 million dollars.
