A driver was injured after crashing into a tree Thursday morning in Santa Maria.
It happened sometime between 4 and 4:30 a.m. along the 1100 block of South Broadway, according to Santa Maria police.
Police say the 19-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance and his condition was described as critical shortly before 8:30 a.m.
Police remained on scene hours after the crash conducting the investigation.
No other details were immediately available.
