Work is underway on a new restaurant in Lompoc.
Signs for Wingstop have gone up outside the former Chipotle building on the 1400 block of N. H Street next to The Habit Burger Grill and Blaze Pizza.
The restaurant offers a variety of chicken wings and sauces along with fries, corn, rolls and more.
As of Monday morning, the new location was not yet on Wingstop’s online store locator or in the company’s database.
Calls to the company for additional information on when the new location is expected to open have not yet been returned.
With the opening of the new store, many in the community are worried about increased traffic in and out of an already impacted center. The City has not replied to KSBY’s requests asking whether any projects to improve traffic congestion in the area are being considered.
Locally, there are currently Wingstop locations in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo.
Chipotle closed its Lompoc location last July.
