Crews have started work on a project at the Betteravia Rd. and Highway 101 interchange ramps in Santa Maria.
The work includes widening the southbound offramp, removing the concrete median on Betteravia, lengthening the westbound left turn lanes at the northbound onramp signal, and resurfacing the roadway.
On Monday, survey crews were on site.
The city says the goal of the $900,000 project is to relieve traffic congestion, minimize delays, and improve flow at the northbound onramp and southbound offramp.
The ramps will remain open during construction.
The work is expected to continue through mid-August.
