Power outage impacts thousands in Santa Maria

UPDATE: 6:15 p.m.- As of 6:05 p.m. only 300 PG&E customers remain without power.

According to the City of Santa Maria, those customers will remain without power until repairs are completed by PG&E.


Thousands of PG&E customers are without power in Santa Maria Wednesday evening.

According to the PG&E outage map, 4,117 customers lost power from Cook Street to Betteravia Road and Depot to Philbric.

The outage was first reported around 3:55 p.m., and according to the City of Santa Maria, PG&E crews are on site where there are reports of wires being down.

PG&E is investigating the cause of the outage.

According to the utility’s website, power is expected to be restored by 8:15 p.m.
