Man arrested after police search in San Luis Obispo

UPDATE (6:08 p.m.) – Police say a man considered a “parolee-at-large” was arrested Friday evening in San Luis Obispo.

An officer reportedly spotted the man in an area near the Madonna Rd. and Highway 101 interchange but he ran away when the officer tried to approach him.

Police set up a perimeter in the nearby creek area, and with the help of a helicopter, the man was located and taken into custody.

Police say the man was in possession of a dagger.

No other details were immediately available.


 

(5:53 p.m.) – Police were searching an area near Madonna Rd. and Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo for a wanted subject early Friday evening.

Officers from multiple agencies were on the scene and a helicopter was assisting in the search.

Police have not released any details about the person they are looking for.
