Firefighters are continuing to mop up after a vegetation fire burned more than 11 acres in Paso Robles Saturday evening.
The fire was reported around 5 p.m. in the riverbed area of North River Road. Firefighters say the area was difficult to access due to dense vegetation.
North River Road between Union Road and River Oaks was closed for about five hours while more than 62 firefighters battled the wind-driven fire, according to fire officials.
The fire was initially estimated to have burned about six acres but Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services said Sunday afternoon more accurate mapping showed the fire had burned a total of 11.51 acres.
The cause remains under investigation.
