The Grover Beach City Council voted to adopt a new short-term rental ordinance that puts a cap on certain rentals and establishes a permit process.
The ordinance allows both owner-occupied and non-owner occupied short-term rentals in all areas of the city, but it caps non-owner occupied rentals at 100.
It also established a permitting process to regulate the use of these rentals and avoid potential neighbor issues.
Permit applications will be available beginning August 1.
The ordinance will go into effect in August or September, depending on the timing of Coastal Commission approval.
