Children in Orcutt continued their annual Independence Day tradition by parading around the local neighborhood.

Kids of all ages commenced their march at Joe Nightingale Elementary School. Alongside their parents, they walk around the neighborhood near Dickson and Vineland Drive.

Children attending the parade donned red, white and blue attire, bringing out their scooters, bicycles and remote-controlled cars decorated with flags, bows and festive tinsel.

According to parade organizer Chris Hunter, it has been fun to see all attendees in “good spirits” at the years-long tradition.

“It’s just cool to get everyone out in the neighborhood. I love this neighborhood. I’m hoping every year we can continue doing it,” Hunter said.

Parents in the neighborhood said the students look forward to marching in the Fourth of July parade each year.
