The Ventura County Fire Department responded to two crashes Thursday night in Camarillo that left three people dead and others injured.
The first was reported at about 7:53 p.m. at Las Posas and Laguna roads in the Oxnard Plains. Two vehicles were reportedly involved with one landing upside down in a ditch.

Fire officials say five people were involved in the crash. Two died from their injuries, one reportedly had minor injuries and another refused care, fire officials say.
The second happened just minutes later at about 7:59 p.m. at Fairway Drive and Center School Road.

Fire officials say one person died and another had minor injuries.
As of 9:43 p.m., Fairway Drive was closed between Center School Road and Deseo Ave., according to CHP.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of both crashes.
