Authorities have identified the teen killed this past weekend in another off-roading crash at the Oceano Dunes – the sixth so far this year – as Alan Chernitskiy, 18.

State Parks officials say the crash happened at about 3:20 p.m. Saturday east of competition hill.

According to a press release, Chernitskiy was riding a motorcycle and following another rider when he went off a 30-foot dune at an unknown speed. He “impacted the ground resulting in traumatic injuries.”

The teen, who is from the Sacramento area, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to State Parks, and his motorcycle was also equipped with a whip and flag.

Rangers and lifeguards responded and found Chernitskiy unconscious and without a pulse.

Bystanders reportedly performed CPR, which State Park staff continued for another 20 minutes, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash, officials said.

A GoFundMe accountset up earlier this week has already raised more than $17,000 and describes the teen as having “a good heart who cared for the ones around him.”

A memorial service is set for Friday in Roseville.
