The California Highway Patrol has identified the woman killed in a suspected DUI crash over the weekend in Paso Robles as Maya Lakshima Visvanathan.
It happened Saturday on the 5700 block of Union Road.
Officers say Visvanathan, 25, of Los Altos was the passenger in a vehicle driven by Wilder Blue Barela, 31, also from Northern California.
For unknown reasons, Barela reportedly went off the road and hit a tree.
Visvanathan died at the scene. Barela was taken to the hospital and booked into jail Tuesday on suspicion of DUI.
Jail logs allege his BAC was above .10 percent at the time of the crash.
His bail is set at $100,000.
