The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is hosting a Mini Ranch Day where people can interact with miniature horses.
Ten miniature horses will be there and attendees are invited to participate in interactive demonstrations including horse tricks, tail braiding and grooming.
There will also be several festival-inspired activities like bobbing for apples, face painting and a chance to feed the animals.
Mini Ranch Day organizers want kids to understand what it takes to raise a miniature horse.
“They’ll just be learning about the tendencies, they’ll be able to groom them, pet them, kinda just hang out with them, learn what it’s like to kinda be around a little mini horse,” explained Rudy Gutierrez, City of Santa Maria Recreation Coordinator.
Mini Ranch Day will be held at Los Flores Ranch Park in Santa Maria from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.
It is free for everyone to attend.
