The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating the death of a man whose body was found earlier this month in rural Paso Robles as a homicide.
Previously, the sheriff’s office had identified the investigation as a “suspicious death investigation.”
The body of Primitivo Pacheco Ortega, 20, was found at about 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 7 off Estrella Rd. near Hog Canyon Rd., according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators say Ortega suffered multiple stab wounds.
Sheriff’s officials previously released a photo of Ortega, asking anyone who saw him between Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7 at 6:45 a.m. to contact the sheriff’s office at (805) 781-4550.

Ortega is reportedly from the Paso Robles/San Miguel area.
