Warmer temperatures on Wednesday didn’t stop people from attending the California Mid-State Fair.

Emergency medical services want to remind people to take precautionary steps to ensure they stay safe while having a good time at the fair.

“Remember to stay hydrated, drink a lot of water. If you are feeling thirsty, it probably is already to the point where you are down a little bit. Make sure you get that water intake and stay cool,” said Captain Paul Pati of the Paso Robles Fire Department

This comes as a reminder to fairgoers as Paso Robles hits triple digits.

Pati also encourages people to limit their time in the sun and to wear hats and sunglasses to offer more protection.

“I have ice literally down my shirt. I am drinking lots of water, anything to keep me on my feet so that I can do my job,” said fair worker Mercedes Delaroca.

The American Red Cross is also encouraging people to drink lots of liquids but to stay away from caffeinated and alcoholic beverages and to also wear lightweight and light-colored clothing.
