The Paul Nelson Aquatic Center in Santa Maria is holding a Free Swim Day on Sunday.

The event will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on July 28.

The center has an Olympic-sized competition pool as well as a recreational pool with a frog-shaped waterslide, water umbrella play structures, and a brand new fish slide.

“We’re so excited about Free Swim Day,” said Dennis Smitherman, City of Santa Maria Management Analyst. “Free Swim Day is a sponsorship between the People for Leisure and Youth and the Recreation and Parks Department. PLAY Inc. sponsors two to three of these a year so we invite the community to come out and enjoy this great city pool.”

The Paul Nelson Aquatic Center is located at 600 S. McClelland Street.

Fees to use the pool are usually between $1.50 and $3. Click here for more information.
