San Luis City Fire Battalion Chief Sammy Fox says two vehicles were involved in the crash, which involved one vehicle crashing into the side of another.

Two people in the vehicle hit were injured, "one in serious distress," Fox said. The other driver was also also taken to the hospital to get checked out.

Police were requested at the scene to provide traffic control while the injured were treated and scene was cleared.

A level one mass casualty incident was declared due to the number of patients.
