A 5.0-magnitude earthquake hit the Carson City area Friday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake hit at 6:33 p.m. about 3.1 miles east of Indian Hills, Nevada.
A USGS map shows shaking was strong at the epicenter.
The earthquake was felt all the way to Pollock Pines, Sacramento, Truckee and South Lake Tahoe.
There are no reports of damage at this time.
