UPDATE - Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument between an individual and several members of a family. During the argument, police say the suspect pulled out a gun and shot one of the family members.
The adult male victim was reportedly treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Police say detectives are working with witnesses to identify and locate the suspect. They say the shooting is not gang-related.

Santa Maria Police are responding to a shooting that took place Monday night.
Police say it happened on the 100 block of East Sunset Avenue at around 7 p.m.
Law enforcement is on the scene and says the suspect/suspects in the shooting are outstanding.
Fire officials say there is one victim who suffered moderate injuries and is being transported to the hospital.
Community members are being asked to avoid the area as an active investigation is underway.
