Airbnb will be vamping up their safety measures starting December and is planning to verify every listing on its site by Dec. 15, 2020.

Oliver Giles has been an Airbnb host in Pismo Beach for over two years and believes the new verification process will be beneficial for everyone.

“You don’t want false advertising out there distracting from the ones that are doing it the right way," added Giles.

The verification process will check for accuracy of photos, location, and safety measure among other things.

An additional change to the rental process will start on Dec. 31, 2019 in the United States with a 24/7 hotline.

Anyone who has any concerns or needs assistance will be able to call a hot-line and speak with a real person.

The changes will be broken down by four categories:

1) Airbnb will verify 100% of listings
2) Customers will now be re-booked into another listing if they feel their listing does not match the online description. They can also receive a full refund
3) The company will create a 24/7 hotline where you will be able to speak with real people if you have any concerns or need assitance
4) The company will do manual reviews of high-risk listings
